Investigators believe a former Colorado man fatally shot his wife and teenage daughter and then killed himself at the family's new home in Garland. The bodies of the Andrews family were discovered Tuesday morning by the management staff of their apartment. Garland police say fellow employees of the man who lived there were concerned when he didn't show up for work and had asked the management to check on him. Police found 46 year old Robert Andrews, his 46 year old wife and his 17 year old daughter and the family dog dead. Investigators say it appears that Andrews shot his family and then killed himself. Police say a pistol that may have been used in the slayings was recovered. A motive for the shootings was being sought. Friends say the family moved to Garland from Briargate, a town in north Colorado Springs. It was obvious that it was the father who killed his wife and kids. I think it was really sad that he decided to kill his whole family.

In the article “Weld County raid nets $1 million in cocaine” by the Denver post, A drug raid in rural Weld County has uncovered about $1 million worth of cocaine and $42,000. In an early morning raid on Saturday by local and federal agents on a property off of Weld County Road 33. Agents seized ten kilograms of cocaine, several handguns and four vehicles in the raid. The raid also leads to the arrest of a Commerce City man at a home on Eagle Creek Parkway. The Commerce City arrest netted 250 grams of cocaine, $10,000, a handgun and four vehicles. The 250 grams has an estimated street value of $25,000. The names of the three men were not released by authorities citing the ongoing investigation. The Weld County Sheriff's Department SWAT team and agents with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took part in the raid. I think they could secure more of the places that they suspect drugs could be hidden and have more random drug screenings.

In the article “Williams charged with murder in code officer’s” by the Rocky Mountain News, death Harry Denard Williams was charged with first degree murder in district court in Brighton this afternoon in the shooting death of Aurora code enforcement officer Rodney Morales. Morales was shot once in the chest about 1:30 p.m. while making a scheduled routine inspection at an apartment building at 1961 Clinton St. in Adams County on Nov. He died shortly after being transported to a hospital. Williams, the suspect, eluded a police cordon put up around a multi-block area surrounding the crime scene. He was arrested without incident later that same afternoon at a house in Montbello. Williams is being held without bail and his next court appearance is scheduled for January 21, 2009. I think he deserves to go to jail for killing an innocent person. The guy didn’t deserve to die for no reason besides doing his job.

In this article “Mom, beau charged in tot's scalding death” by the Denver post A mother and her boyfriend were charged with murder Friday in the scalding death of 2-year-old Elijah Archuleta. Isela Reyes-Talamantes, 23, and her boyfriend, John Vigil, 24, each have been charged with first-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death, according to the office of Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey. Officers were called to St. Anthony Central Hospital at about 11 p.m. on Nov. 7 on a report of a child with severe burns. Elijah, who would have been 3 years old next month, was declared dead a few minutes later. Reyes-Talamantes and Vigil are being held without bail at the Denver County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court Tuesday to be formally advised of the charges. Reyes-Talamantes told police that she and Vigil fabricated a story to explain the injuries and waited hours before taking the child to the hospital Friday. Medical personnel estimated the boy had burns over 75 percent of his body and said he had a black eye. It’s so messed up and I hope they go to jail for a long time. I think it was pathetic that they abused a innocent child for doing nothing wrong.

In the article “Sheridan teacher charged in child sex case” by the Denver Post. A 27-year-old Sheridan High School teacher who allegedly had sex with a male student has been formally charged. Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey charged Melissa Snow with three counts of sexual assault on a child, with one of the charges alleging a pattern of behavior. Snow is free on a $50,000 bond and was suspended from her job. She was arrested Nov. 5 after a joint investigation between the Denver and Sheridan police departments. A tip from the school led investigators to believe that Snow had sex with the boy more than once at a location in Denver. Snow will appear in Denver County Court on Thursday morning for her arraignment. This was very messed up on the adult’s part because he was under age and she was not only an adult but a teacher and knew better.

In the article “suicide bomber” by the Denver post. A suicide bomber rammed his car into a police patrol on the road Wednesday killing six people and wounding 12 others. The heavily secured highway leading from central Baghdad to the capital's airport was once among the most dangerous stretches in Iraq. Insurgents staged almost daily attacks with roadside bombs and automatic weapons on U.S military convoys and civilian vehicles traveling to and from downtown Baghdad. But security has improved markedly on the highway in the past 18 months ago. Also Wednesday, two U.S. soldiers were wounded in a roadside bomb attack near the town of Karmah as they responded to reports of a bomb in the area, the U.S. military said. Two Iraqis were killed, while an Iraqi interpreter, two Iraqi Army soldiers and 11 civilians were wounded in the bombing. An Iraqi security official said the U.S. troops were injured as they rushed to the site of an earlier roadside bomb attack that killed a prominent leader. The term for mostly Sunni groups that have joined forces with the Americans against al-Qaida in Iraq. Elsewhere, one policeman died and three more were wounded when their patrol hit a roadside bomb in Amarah southeast of Baghdad, police said. Wednesday's violence follows a series of bombings in Baghdad this week that have killed more than 30 people, and underscore that insurgents still pose a threat. Meanwhile, the U.S. military said an American soldier died of non-combat related causes. I think they should have armored car or something to where there would only be miner injures. Or be more cautious about their surroundings in Iraq. And make security allot better than it is.

In the article “aurora teen dies from injuries in Halloween crash” by the Denver post. They talk about how a 13-year-old from Aurora died Monday evening from injuries caused by a drunk driver on Halloween, The Aurora police said Dallas Burton was on his way to service at a friend's house when the Mazda was hit by a Ford Bronco driven by Donald K. Edwards. Police said The Bronco had a raised suspension allowing its front bumper to plow through the passenger side where it hit Burton in the back seat. The driver and other passengers suffered minor injuries. They all were wearing safety belts thankfully. But Edwards failed a sobriety tests and faces charges of drunken driving and vehicular homicide for the crash at East Cliff Avenue and South Peoria Street the Police said he turned left into the Mazda. I think they should have looked before they pulled out into the road and he would probably be still alive today.
